This necklace is another one for my friend Helen's Mum, after the original Faux Faberge Walnut disappeared in the mail. Everyone involved was rather sad about that, but fortunately the pendants came from a pair of earrings, so I could make another one from the second 'walnut'.
This time, to sort of to make up for the first one going missing, I've made it in real gold wire. 12 karat gold-filled wire, to be precise, which is kind of the same as gold-plated, but better quality.
This one contains Freshwater Pearls, Fluorite, Peridot, Citrine, Green Aventurine, Rock Crystal Quartz, Blue Topaz, Table-cut Czech Glass with a Picasso finish and Swarovski crystals, including a lovely pair of the most gorgeous blue 8mm rounds. The bottom of the pendant is hung with three tiny Freshwater Pearls in complementary colours.
There is no clasp on this piece as it hangs quite long (about 68cm around, which is approximately 26¾ inches) and is made to fit over the head.
I'll be sending this one by registered mail (or perhaps by express as I hear that's pretty secure as well .. maybe even by registered express) to make sure it arrives at its desitination this time!
