Kazuri beads are made by hand, by women in Karin, Kenya. Kazuri means small and beautiful in swahili.
The centrepiece of African Greens is made up of three olive green kazuri beads, strung together with sterling silver wire, and spaced with sterling silver beads. Malachite beads in two sizes are dotted amongst the roble wood pukalet beads from the Philippines, and tiny brass beads.
The sterling silver toggle clasp is at the back. African Greens is approx 62cm long (approx 24½"), and features my signature M bead. The weight of the brass and the texture of the roble wood seem to give this necklace a wonderful soft feel to it - it drapes beautifully! This is another of my pieces that I could be quite easily tempted to keep for myself!
The price is AU$70.00 including postage within Australia, or AU$75.00 including postage internationally. Registration is not possible for international mail, and no responsibility is taken for lost postal items. (but what's that in my money?)
