The central feature of this piece is a large Amethyst pendant. It has been cut from a light coloured section of rock, so is a very subtle purple, but this colour is brought out with the Fluorite rounds I've chosen to go with it, graduating from a deeper purple near the pendant through to an almost clear white at the back of the necklace.
Aphrodite is named after Aphrodite the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty .. and this piece is indeed beautiful. Feminine, but not weak. Beautiful, yet not insubstantial.
Set in amongst the Fluorite rounds are two sets of swirley connectors which sit at the sides of the neck. They resemble leaves and berries, but they could be just lovely patterns.
The Amethyst pendant measures 3cm (1¼ inches) at its widest point and 4cm (1½ inches) tall. The necklace is finished with chain at the back, so hook the lobster clasp through any of the large links to wear it closer to the neck at 37½cm (14¾ inches) or slightly lower through to 40cm (15¾ inches) long.
All metal in this piece is sterling silver: the wire, the connectors, the clasp and the chain.
