The centrepiece of this necklace is a beautiful hand made raku bead, by Stan Roberts, of xaz beads. It's one of Stan's Adinkra beads, featuring Nsoromma, meaning "child of the heavens" - a star. I see it as the sun. And that's how I've used it. As Sunshine Blue
The Sunshine Blue feature bead is just under 2cm (¾") across. It's glazed on the front with a brassy blue. The back is unglazed dark grey.
Silver, turquoise, citrine and honey calcite all joined with Nsoromma in becoming Sunshine Blue. The "plain" part of the necklace is threaded with 'liquid silver' - tiny sterling silver beads, which are almost invisible, appearing almost literally like flowing, liquid silver.
Sunshine Blue is approximately 53cm long (22")and features a silver parrot clasp. There is an extension chain offering an extra 6cm (approx 2½"). The centrepiece, featuring Nsoromma, citrine, silver and turquoise is approx 3cm (1¼") long.
