The Rivers of Babylon is a silver bracelet, made up of 8 panels, textured and decorated, and joined with sterling silver jump rings.
The fronts and backs of each panel have been textured with organza ribbon, wavy grooves representing rivers, small holes, and little "rivetty bits" - this is a shape I've used a few times while working with silverclay - it's organic, round, with a sort of centre and a lip, but I think "rivetty bits" describes it quite nicely. There are also facetted cubic zirconias set into some of the rivetty bits, and a facetted peridot in one of the panels. Patina has been added giving a beautiful subtle blueish tinge to an overall golden feel. The patina in the "river grooves" has been allowed to deepen to create a stronger colour, where most of the blue appears.
The Rivers of Babylon measures approx 19.5cm (7½"), and is fastened by a simple sterling silver toggle clasp. The panels are not regular, in shape or size, but range from around 2cm (¾") on the inside edge of the end panels, to around 3.3cm (1¼") on the longest panel.
Formed by hand, from PMC (precious metal clay) and then fired, this piece is 99.9% solid silver.
Please bear in mind that an "organic" piece is not perfectly smooth, nor perfectly shaped. It's intended to look like something which may have been created in nature - a little worn, and irregular.
The price is AU$185.00 including postage within Australia, or AU$190.00 including postage internationally. Registration is not possible for international mail, and no responsibility is taken for lost postal items. (but what's that in my money?)
